Philadelphia Museum of Art: Restoring the William Waln Suite (1808)

Posted on November 14, 2016 by Palladia Passementerie

Palladia played a small part in the restoration of this fabulous neo-Classical suite of furniture designed by Benjamin Henry Latrobe and George Bridport in 1808 for Philadelphia merchant William Waln and his wife, Mary Wilcocks Waln. The pieces, now back on display after restoration, include Palladia European galloon on the upholstery and mini-cording in the tassels and fringe. You can read more about the suite at the Philadelphia Museum of Art and in an article in the New York Times (Oct. 15, 2015). The Palladia trim used is #823.2 Diamond Rust Metallic Galloon.
